About this tool
Resizing changes pixel dimensions, not the physical size of a printed image by itself. Reducing dimensions often lowers file size because fewer pixels must be encoded. Increasing dimensions invents interpolated pixels and does not add real detail.
Keep aspect ratio enabled to avoid stretching. Output format and quality also affect file size; JPEG and WebP quality settings are lossy, while PNG canvas output ignores quality.
How to use it
- Upload an image and note its original dimensions.
- Enter a width, height or choose a scale preset; leave the aspect lock on for proportional sizing.
- Choose an output format, inspect the preview and download.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing reduce file size?
Reducing pixel dimensions often does, but the final format and encoder determine the actual file size.
Can resizing improve a small image?
It can make the file larger, but it cannot restore detail absent from the original.
Can I resize multiple images at once?
This image resizer handles one file at a time. Batch image resizing is not available yet.
