About this tool
The converter uses the browser's image decoder and canvas encoders. Choose JPEG for photographs where broad compatibility matters, PNG for lossless pixels and transparency, or WebP when you want a modern web format with alpha support. You can convert JPG to PNG or PNG to JPG when another app requires that format; JPG and JPEG are two extensions for the same format.
JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent input is composited on the background color shown in the tool when you select JPEG. This image format converter accepts and exports JPEG, PNG and WebP. It does not currently convert vector SVG, animated GIF or AVIF files.
